About the Author

Gary Adkins, a writer and editor with over 30 years of experience in education, began as a journalist and legislative correspondent.

A graduate of the University of Illinois at Springfield, Gary also spent seven years as a research associate with the bipartisan Illinois Legislative Research Unit of the Illinois General Assembly. In addition to his journalism background, Gary holds an advanced degree in creative writing. He had the privilege of studying under Richard Adams, the author of Watership Down, during Adams’ tenure as Writer in Residence at Hollins University in Virginia. Gary’s diverse experiences enrich his writing and editorial work, making him a valuable contributor to the literary community.
